Kaya Mizuki (水樹(みずき) カヤ, Mizuki Kaya^? ), real name Maya Iida (飯田(いいだ)摩耶(まや), Iida Maya^? ), is a minor character of the manga series Grand Blue. She is a voice actress and the older sister of Kanako Iida who voices Rarako (Kouhei Imamura's favorite character).

Etymology

• The name Kaya (1) is written in katakana (カヤ), which has no special meaning. However, when written in kanji (香耶 or 果耶), it could possibly mean:
  • 香耶 - "fragrance, fragrant" (香) (ka) and "question mark" (耶) (ya).
  • 果耶 - "fruit, reward, carry out, achieve, complete, end, finish, succeed" (果) (ka) and "question mark" (耶) (ya).
• Kaya's surname Mizuki means "water" (水) (mizu) and "tree" (樹) (ki).

Real Name

• The name Maya means "chafe, rub, polish, grind, scrape" (摩) (ma) and "question mark" (耶) (ya).
• Maya's surname Iida means "food, meals" (飯) (ii) and "field, rice paddy" (田) (ta/da), which literally means "paddy :of cooked rice" altogether.
